Painting and drawing is for me a necessity and a pleasure, a torment and a satisfaction when I get where I want. Moments of true ecstasy that justify all the rest.

I try to make a small, local and everyday world something universal.

I have always looked for beauty, even when I was a student, in the 80s, with the ‘trans-avant-garde’, when it was an anachronistic and devalued term, which even I did not know I was looking for.

Beauty for me, has complexity, color, air, space and very recurrently with circular and ovoid shapes, sometimes peripheral, often flat, which give respite to the eye and truce to the spirit.
