From abstract realism to abstract without surnames
“Today, not only is pure beauty necessary to us, but it is the only means that purely manifests to us the universal force that all things contain.”
Piet Mondrian
Abstraction can only be expressed through real, concrete elements: lights, shadows, strokes and colors, composition and decomposition, matter and its absence, figuration and disfigurement. It is a fight between reality and imagination in which neither emerges victorious or defeated.
