Iria do Castelo's work includes sculpture, illustration, printmaking and installation. It is a surrealist figuration powerfully evoking literary passages, magical bestiary and aged prints from another time. Passionate of book-objects, in its iconography we can find the evocation of Mark Twain, Lewis Carroll, Jules Verne, Henry Holiday, John Tenniel,... with great influence of lowbrow art and pop surrealism among other trends.

She studied in Picasso School, specializing in Sculpture, and in CIEC Foundation (A Coruña).

She has obtained several grants to explore the possibilities of contemporary graphic art. Has been selected by Antonio Lopez to participate in the III Extraordinary Chair City of Albacete, workshop taught by artist. Her approach to the field of public works has left numerous sculptural projects in different parts of the Galician geography.

In recent years she has participated in numerous international exhibition projects and contemporary art fairs.

She has been recently selected as artist in residence at the Museum of Contemporary Art La Coruna (MAC).
